Elephant Feet

Our rating:

*2 out of 5 stars* This is a great stop if you’re driving by. It’s pretty crazy how much these look just like elephant feet but I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way for this view since it’s such a quick stop.

About the place:

As you can guess, these 2 rocks structures got their name because they look just like elephant feet. This is a nice quick stop located pretty much in the middle of no where but takes no effort to view since it’s right on the side of the road. This is a great stop along long road trips to stretch your legs with an interesting view.

How to get there:

Elephants Feet is located on the west side of Highway 160, about 25 mins from Tuba City, AZ.

Grand Canyon via South Rim

Desert View Dr., Grand Canyon Village, AZ 86023

Our rating:

*5 out of 5 stars* This is personally my all time favorite place that I’ve ever visited. Whether you’re visiting just for the views from the rim or you’re traveling into the canyon, it’s definitely worth the visit!

About the place:

The Grand Canyon needs no introduction, this park will just blow you away. Even being there it didn’t feel like a real place, the views are unbeatable. According to the National Park Services website, this area began to form between 30 & 70 million years ago when tectonic plates shifted and caused the region to be uplifted. The raging Colorado River then carved through the area, creating the canyon that we see today. The Grand Canyon can be viewed view the North or South Rim. I have not visited the North Rim yet, but have heard that the South Rim has the best views. Many people just visit this park via the rim but you can also take the long hike down into the base of the canyon to explore further.

How to get there:

To view the South Rim of the Grand Canyon you can drive along Desert View Drive & visit the beautiful view behind the Visitor Center. Along this road there are many pull offs to get different views of the Canyon.
