Penn’s Cave & Wildlife Park
222 Pens Cave Rd. Centre Hall, PA 16828
the boat tour! We were able to see fish, a ground hog and a elk grazing in a pasture. If you’re still looking for things to do you can try to find your way through the miners maze! To see pricing for all of these fun options check out their website, https://www.pennscave.com/rates with a list of them all, along with combo packs. Penn’s cave is definitely the main attraction, this is America’s only all-water cavern & wild life park. As you will learn if you take the tour, this cave has a lot of history and was first opened up to the public in 1885. My favorite part of the caves are the incredible stalactites and stalagmites! As water drips from the cave walls, minerals come with it. Some of these minerals stick to the ceiling of the cave which create stalactites, these look similar to icicles hanging down. The rest of the minerals fall with each droplet and create stalagmites growing up from the ground. Both of these mineral structures take 100-150 years in perfect condition to grow 1-cubic centimeter, so as you can imagine these are incredibly old!
